| A threaded rod is a metal rod that is threaded throughout its entire length. Threaded rods, also known as studs, are long rod fasteners. It's typically made from carbon steel, zinc coated and stainless steel. Threaded rods are threaded either along their whole length or just on set lengths at each end. The threading of it causes a tightening action from the rotational movement. Threading on a rod allows other fixings like bolts and nuts to easily screw or fasten to it. Threaded rods come in various lengths and diameters, meaning their functionality covers a huge range of applications. These rods are very useful as they can be custom cut to length to suit your application and the thread can have a right-handed or left-handed thread pattern. Threaded rods have many applications, effectively working as a pin to fasten or connect two materials together. Threaded bar uses a standard nut and washer setup and is recommended for Industrial use. Threaded bar serves as an anchoring for ceiling hangers, metal ducts, air conditioning systems and more. The flexible and versatile nature of threaded rod makes it ideal for anchoring and fastening. |

Threaded rods
• Install the first level Shearwall over the Embedment Anchor Rod.
• Drill a hole 1/4" - 1/2" larger than the diameter of the threaded rod to be installed.
The hole is to be located directly above the anchor bolt.
• Use the threaded stud layout drawing or a plumb bob to locate the hole position.
The rod may be offset a maximum of 2" per 10' floor height, if required.
